Boarding Program
Our international students have an option of living in either a dorm or with a host family. We have five small dorms (two for girls and three for boys) and about 32 host families in our local community. Tuition is the same whether a student chooses a host family or a dorm. Our dorms close for the Christmas break but that is the only time they close. They are open for all other school vacations and holidays. During the Christmas break we offer a chaperoned trip to Florida. There are about 20 international students going to Florida this year. There is an extra cost for this trip, around $2000. Otherwise, students like to go home for the holiday break. Some students are invited by their host families to stay for the Christmas holiday and share the holiday with the host family. We do not require our host families to take international students during the Christmas break but many of them offer to take students.
Tuition and fees:$45,500(2016~2017)
Our tuition for next year is $45,500 for the full academic year (two semesters). Tuition for one semester is $22,750. ESL is not included in tuition. We offer three levels of ESL: English Language, Academic English Language, and Advanced Academic English Language. The ESL fee is $2500 per semester. Tuition includes room and board, the school lunch program, academic trips to Washington, DC and New York City, weekend activities, skiing and snowboarding program, transportation to and from Albany International Airport at the time of arrival, departure, and at Christmas break, yearbook. Tuition does not include medical insurance. Medical insurance is mandatory for all international students and the cost is $950 per year. There is also an iPad insurance fee of $40. Students must also leave a $500 security deposit which is refunded at the time of their departure. We also ask students to maintain a school account with $500 in order to cover costs for any testing (TOEFL, SAT, etc.).
Admission requirement:
We accept students for grades 9-12. We will accept a student for grade 12 but they will not be able to receive a diploma.
Expectations for students:
We have an excellent college preparatory program so students are very well prepared to go on to college. We are always looking for students who want to study in the US and really immerse themselves into the school and the local culture. Our most successful students are the ones that are involved in either clubs, sports, or school activities like performing arts, dance, or theater.
