Fine Arts at West Nottingham Academy
Art, music and theatre at West Nottingham Academy enhance the rigorous academic program. All freshmen participate in the Freshman Humanities Art and Music courses. They choose from Photography, Studio Art, Chorus and Music Theory. Each year, students have the opportunity to perform on stage by joining the Nottingham Players as an after-school activity.


Theatre Arts:The Nottingham Players have long been an integral part of the student experience at West Nottingham Academy. Students gather to select and produce full-scale productions, involving themselves in every aspect of Drama; acting, singing, lights, sets, etc.


Art:The art facilities include the Joseph R. and Paul W. Gates Gallery, where both professional and student artists exhibit work. Our computer lab offers the Adobe Creative Suite with which students learn Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator. The art studio has a brand new printing press, a darkroom, and an electric kiln for ceramic work. Students learn about drawing, three-dimensional artwork, digital and darkroom photography, oil painting, color theory, the list goes on and on.


Music: The school has a state-of-the-art computer lab with Finale music software. Students taking humanities and theory classes have the opportunity to create their own music compositions using the finest technology available.
